Christina Champagne is employed as a Human Resources Management Assistant at Southwest Gas Corporation, a natural gas company, in Tucson, AZ.  She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management from Virginia College. Christina is working on her Master’s Degree in Organizational Management, specializing in Human Resource Management at Ashford University. She is a member of Golden Key International, and Women in Technology International (WITI) and is passionate about empowering women to achieve their personal and professional development goals. In the community, she volunteers her time at the local animal shelters providing care and assistance to animals with disabilities, she also volunteers her time creating blankets and food baskets for those in need.

Shannon Engleheart is working as an HR Generalist with a small municipality. Shannon is a veteran of the United States Air Force whose civilian career in Human Resources began in 2005. She is an Ashford University alumni, receiving her BAHRM in 2012, and is now a current student in Ashford’s MAHRM program.  Shannon is also an SHRM-CP, achieving this certification in May of 2019.

Ashley Aric is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree program at Ashford University. Ashley works for The Geo Group, Inc. specializing in privatized corrections, detention, and mental health treatment. She works in administration, controlling the schedule of 5 staff members who maintain a 400k square foot compound and generates weekly corporate reports, produce purchase requisitions, and works with vendors and contractors to keep a good client relationship.

Radairis Pepen obtained her Bachelors’ degree in Hospitality Management in 2013. After more than four years of hotel and customer service experience in competitive branded hotels of NYC, she developed an interest in Human Resources. She is currently pursuing a Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) from the Forbes School of Business & Technology at Ashford University. She is focusing on enhancing her practical HR skills and pursuing a career in HR.

Dominique is a student of the Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management (BAHRM) program in Forbes School of Business & Technology at Ashford University and an aspiring Human Resource Manager with a focus on Recruitment. She is a very open-minded professional that thrives on helping others by a promoting positive influence and growth within those that seek her out. Dominique is a veteran of the United State Air Force and has a strong background in customer service. She is currently employed with Wells Fargo as a Personal Banker while participating in the HR mentoring program in preparation for the next step of her career in HR. Dominique states, “I love to laugh and make others laugh as well! I am thoroughly excited about this Chapter and look forward to meeting and connecting with all of you!”

Dr. Katie Thiry is the Program Chair for the Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) and Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management (BAHRM)  degree programs in the Forbes School of Business & Technology at Ashford University. Dr. Thiry is a recognized expert and leader in the HR field having earned the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential, Certified Performance Technologist (CPT) through the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Human Resource Certification Institute, Inc. (HRCI) and Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (CPLP) by the Association for Talent Development (ATD). She is also a Master Trainer for the MHI Global (formerly Achieve Global, Inc.) leadership development system. She holds a PhD in Education, with an emphasis in Training and Performance Improvement from Capella University, a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from St. Catherine University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She has over 19 years of experience in Human Resources and Training & Development, where she has held titles such as Manager of Human Capital Development, Training & Performance Improvement Consultant, and Senior Training Specialist. In these roles, she partnered with organizations to implement successful training initiatives to increase the effectiveness and performance of their teams, reviewed and evaluated courses and resources to address identified needs for the organization, and designed, developed, and delivered custom training.

Leah Westerman is an Assistant Professor with Ashford University, where she teaches courses in Human Resource Management. She holds a Juris Doctor from the Dickenson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics and International Business from Drexel University. She has been licensed to practice law since 2004. Westerman first started in defending clients against medical malpractice lawsuits, and later practiced civil litigation, family, and business law. For over five years she has taught courses online. Dr. Westerman lives in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA with her husband and two young children.

 

Dr. MeLisa Rogers

Dr. MeLisa Rogers is an is an Assistant Professor with Ashford University, where she teaches courses in Human Resource Management. She holds the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential and is a Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst with Target Training International (TTI), one of the most accurate and widely used temperament tools in the industry today. She has also demonstrated her commitment to the Human Resource field by serving as a National SHRM members for 30 years serving in volunteer leadership roles at the local and state levels in roles as chapter founder and president, district director and state council representative for Texas, Kansas and Missouri. Her more than 30 years of HR / HRD experience is marked by start-ups, mergers and a diverse range of industries including call center, food processing, electrical distribution, education and nonprofits starting on the ground floor as an Operations / Quality Supervisor and ultimately promoted to roles as HR Manager, Sr. HR Manager and Organizational Development Manager. Dr. Rogers holds a PhD with an emphasis in Training and Performance Improvement from Capella University, a Master of Science in Human Resource Development from Pittsburg State University and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with an emphasis in Education from Texas A&M University – College Station.

Myke McCune

Myke McCune is employed as a Fabrication Supervisor at The Harloff Company, which manufactures innovative and high quality carts and storage products for the Healthcare world. He credits his promotion and being well prepared to lead his organization through change to the knowledge he has gained at Ashford University. Myke obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a specialization in Project Management and completed the Master of Arts in Organizational Management degree program with a specialization in Organizational Leadership at Ashford University. He obtained his Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences in Welding Technology from Pike’s Peak Community College located in his home state of Colorado. Myke is a former President of the AU FSBT SHRM Chapter, and now serves as an Alumni Advisor.

Myke is currently working on a Ph.D. in Organizational Development with a specialization in Organizational Diversity at University of the Rockies. With new degrees and increased experience, he is fielding offers for higher positions from other manufacturing companies in Colorado Springs. Myke has returned to Ashford University as Associate Faculty in the BAHRM program.

Janet Horton is employed as a Senior Talent Acquisition Associate at Bayer US LLC, a life science company, in Pittsburgh, PA. She earned her Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Everest Institute in Pittsburgh, PA and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, specializing in Human Resource Management, from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA in 2011. Janet is working towards her Master’s Degree in Organizational Management, specializing in Human Resource Management, at Ashford University. She is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 331 and is passionate about causes surrounding veterans, active duty military and their families. She grew up in a military family and appreciates the challenges military families deal with day to day. Janet is also a student member of SHRM.

Hi everyone my name is Narcissa Turner; I’m enrolled in the Human Resources Management Master’s program at Ashford University. I’m a member of the Society of Human Resource Management; I’m a native of Columbus, Ohio O-H-I-O of course. I received my bachelor’s from Ohio Dominican University also located in Columbus, Ohio in Business Administration; I’m currently an assistant Volleyball coach with a local club in the Cincinnati area. My hobbies are working out and playing my piano. I enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends. Once I complete my Master’s program my goal is to go on and study to get my SHRM certification and become a human resource manager. Welcome to our chapter.

Gerri Wilson is the Chief of Staff at Perkins Management Services Company, and an Associate Faculty in the BAHRM Program at Ashford University.  She is a member of the Forbes School of Business & Technology Human Resource Management Program Committee, and one of the founding officers of the Ashford University Forbes School of Business & Technology Society for Human Resource Management (AU FSBT SHRM) Chapter. Wilson’s experience spans over 20 years in multiple disciplines that include Public Relations, Information Technology, Human Resources, Corporate Administration, and Entrepreneurship.

She is a current PhD student at the University of the Rockies in the Organizational Development and Leadership program with a specialization in Organizational Diversity. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management with a specialization in Leadership from Ashford University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and Marketing, also from Ashford University.

A member of the board of directors for the Brewerville Civic Association, Inc., a non-profit, she has been the recipient of several awards of recognition for humanitarian services for her work within the organization; is the recipient of the only "Corporate Employee of the Year" award at Perkins Management Services; and received an award for superior leadership for her role in the AU FSBT SHRM Chapter from Ashford University. In addition, she is a member of several honor societies to include, Golden Key International, Alpha Sigma Lambda, and Sigma Beta Delta. At the 2017 Ashford University Commencement Faculty Meet and Greet, Wilson was invited to participate as one of the speakers.

In the community, she assists the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Charlotte in its fund-raising activities, is a strong supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and the Red Cross. Wilson and her sister co-own Wilson & Wilson Catering in Columbia, SC.

John Hawk

John Hawk is a Staff Sergeant and a Petroleum Supply Specialist instructor at the Petroleum & Water Department at Fort Lee, Virginia. John earned an Associate of Arts in General Studies from Central Texas College; a Bachelor of Arts in Operations Management & Analysis from Ashford University; and is currently enrolled in the Master of Arts in Organizational Management degree program, with specializations in Human Resource Management and Supply Chain Management. John has held several leadership and management positions over the past seventeen years of military service. John was recently invited to and joined the Golden Key International Honour Society due to his academic performance.

Tanisha Neal. I am a graduate of Ashford University’s Bachelor of Arts in Entrepreneurship degree program and currently hold the position of Secretary for SHRM. She was so impressed with the program structure at Ashford University, she obtained her Master of Arts in Organizational Management with a specialization in project management in April 2017. She is currently enrolled at the University of the Rockies to obtain her Ph.D in Organizational Development and Leadership with a specialization in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Tanisha was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio but lived in Atlanta, Georgia from 2009-2017. Recently she relocated back to her hometown a little less than a year ago. Currently, Tanisha is a manager for an insurance company. Tanisha has a passion for training and exploring new ways to enhance performance in the workplace. She loves to think outside of the box and utilize innovation whenever possible. Tanisha is also an associate faculty member at Ashford University teaching courses in the BAHRM program.

In her spare time, Tanisha loves to cook, bake and travel and aspires to open a restaurant in addition to her other career goals. Tanisha is mother to a 19-month-old son named Rashad who keeps her very busy with sign language and swimming lessons. Tanisha is also active in her church and love working with the children's ministry. Finally, Tanisha is an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes football team as well as the Atlanta Falcons.

Tanisha previously held the title of secretary for the AUFSBT SHRM Chapter and helped create the Chapter as a founding officer. Tanisha is honored to serve the Chapter as an Alumni Advisor and hopes to aid in taking the Chapter to the next level.

Dr. Catherine Frost, Associate Faculty, Ashford University, Forbes School of Business began teaching with Ashford in March 2015. She is a member of the National Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM) and the Central Iowa Society of Human Resource Managers (CISHRM). In addition, she has an HRM Consulting firm and does freelance writing. She has worked to design on-line classes and has had as much experience designing curriculum as teaching. Dr. Frost has a Bachelor's Degree in Business with an emphasis in Human Resource Management in 2004, continued with completing her MBA in 2008 and received her PhD in 2013 in Organizations and Management, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management from Capella University.

Dr. Cathy Nguyen Sin is an Assistant Professor for the Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management (BAHRM) degree program in the Forbes School of Business & Technology at Ashford University. Dr. Nguyen Sin holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership & Development with a specialization in Training and E-Learning from the University of Rockies, an MBA with a specialization in Finance and a Bachelors of Arts in Accounting from Ashford University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from University of Phoenix. Prior to joining Ashford University, Dr. Nguyen Sin worked almost 10 years for one of the largest banking and financial institutions in the world that serve millions of customers across 70 countries and territories. Over the past several years, she has contributed to the planning, design, and development of new and revised online programs at Ashford University, in addition to teaching college-level online courses. Dr. Nguyen Sin lives in San Diego, CA with her husband and four young children.

Kayla is 28 years old and from Albuquerque, NM. She has two children. Her son, Camael is 5 and my daughter, Demi, is 2. Kayla currently resides in Alamosa, Colorado, where she formally played Soccer for Adams State University, prior to enlisting in the United States Navy. She is now focusing on her Bachelors in Business administration and is part of the Ashford University Honors College and the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society.
